Woofs Academy is a North East based training centre. Situation in Washington, Tyne and Wear it is easily accessible from most places in the North East by road and public transport. Woofs academy specialises in Animal Training programs and currently offers the following courses:
City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants
City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming
Woofs Academy Foundation in Dog Grooming
Woofs Academy Advanced Dog Grooming Certificate
Pet First Aid Certificate.
Having set up Woofs n Scruffs in 2016 following over 10 years as a manager in the pet care industry and believing that standards could be improved. In 2017 we created Woofs Training Academy. Initially intended as a short course to accompany our other services which would show owners how to better look after their dogs coats to stop matting which makes the dog uncomfortable. The Academy grew from there and we quickly offered a range of courses to help people learn more about dog grooming and to allow them to break into the Grooming Industry.
By 2019 the Academy had grown so much we took the step to open a separate purpose build Academy and invested in a program to develop our service delivery to offering City and Guilds qualifications.
As a business we pride ourselves in the high quality of service we offer, having more 5 Star reviews on Google and Facebook than any other pet care business in the area. However, we were more than aware that not all pet care providers offer the same quality of service. There are few parts of the pet care industry with any regulation and grooming is no exception. Anyone can open a shop or salon with no or minimal experience and operate as a groomer. Regulation is slowly being introduced to parts of the industry following the DEFRA Animal Welfare Regulations 2018 and we believe our expert training will support any groomers to deliver exceptional customer experiences taking the needs of the dog into account which will drive up the quality of provision.
Our grooming tutors have over 30 years of experience and are supported by a team of very experienced groomers, dog behaviourists, first aiders, veterinary professionals, and rehabilitation practitioners which means there is no situation we will not be able to support you with.
